Notre Dame de la Garde

From the train/bus station of Marseille one of the first things I saw was the big church like building. It was beautiful from where I saw it, and was excited to finally get to see this building up close.

However, I didn't realize that going there meant a journey up a slope that was pretty much like a wall. The walk was very long, hard and did I mention hard?

Doesn't seem that steep, but it was really steep. Our journey up the steep hill.
ALMOST THERE

When we finally arrived at the top and looked back, there was a panoramic view of Marseille and the beach. I (kind of dind't) forget about the pain of coming up and enjoyed the beautiful view of Marseille.

Panoramic View II

After viewing the beautiful Notre Dame de la Garde and the panoramic view of Marseille, we went downstairs a bit and waited for a traditional meal.

The meal consisted of white fish, vegetables, eggs and a special sauce.

We waited for the sun to set, and then we headed back down.
